09.04.11 Week In Review

The calm before the storm.

This week we were busy little bee’s getting the gallery ready for our September exhibition, Entwined Excess, featuring the work of Phillip Hua. There was plenty of buzz floating around the show too. The San Francisco Chronicle posted this article and the SF Weekly gave some praise to Hua in this article.

As a result of all that press, we had a packed house at the First Thursday opening reception.

As if the opening reception wasn’t enough excitement we also received six new Carolyn Meyer paintings, including four works on paper last week.

These juicy paintings beautifuly capture the late Summer season in the Bay Area from various angles. You can almost smell the sun on the grass as the fog is about to roll in.

A little teaser of our studio-visit-a-thon

To cap the whole week off we did three studio visits including a pop by Fain Hancock’s studio in anticipation of her November solo exhibition, What Remains. We’ll post more photo’s later on, but mark your calendar on November 3rd, it’s going to be a real treat.
