Introducing Hang Art Projects

Operating outside the regular gallery programming, Hang Art Projects is simply another way for you to find the art you love in unique venues. Hang Art Projects expands on Hang Art’s founding tenants by showcasing the artworks of talented artists in diverse career points. And, of course, the new program still holds true to the honesty, approachability, and transparency you find at Hang Art.

The Solarium is huge!

For the inaugural project, the epic, sun dappled forest scenes of acclaimed artist Elaine Coombs are featured in The Solarium at 55 Second Street. This large, public space is a weekday refuge from the hustle and bustle of downtown San Francisco. Join us Tuesday, November 8 from 5 to 7pm for an artist’s reception, or stop by anytime from now until the new year to see the work yourself. You can also check out the sneak preview below.

We brought our trusty blurry camera to document it all.

The potted plants add to the ambiance.

Plenty of seats to relax on and take it all in.

WOW Lainey! That looks AMAZING! I wish I could come for a few days. I’m going to put it out there to the universe and see what happens. You never know. Congratulations. Love you! Anita xoxo

  3. Thank you Anita & Michelle! My apologies for taking so long to reply, I just now saw your comments on this post. The solarium really is a wonderful venue… During the day, with the ambiance of the high ceilings, bright skylights, and my forest landscapes, it is a very peaceful place. People take advantage of the comfy couches and seating to escape from work, eat lunch and enjoy the atmosphere. I like that my paintings can be experienced outside of the typical gallery setting and touch people who may not find them otherwise. – Elaine
