HANG ART was founded in 1998 with a mission to introduce emerging artists from the Bay Area to art lovers around the world. Since that time, our two galleries in the Union Square neighborhood of San Francisco have come to represent numerous artists working in a variety of styles. Hang Art shows only one of a kind works, including paintings, sculpture and works on paper. If you don’t see something you love while visiting, we are happy to show you pieces from our extensive inventory. The full collection is posted online at www.hangart.com, where you can visit us anytime. We update the site daily, so you can keep track of our latest additions.

HANG ART takes pride in representing local artists working in a variety of media, which allows us to price artwork affordably. To eliminate guesswork, we post prices and artist’s information next to the art on display. And because price negotiation can be awkward, we keep it simple: the price you see is what you’ll pay online or in the gallery.
If you need more time to decide, or have a short-term need, HANG ART offers art rental. Our program was a pioneer in providing the option of renting art to individuals, businesses, and designers. For more information, see the Art Rental page.

Also keep in mind that HANG ART and HANG ART annex, both on the 500 block of Sutter Street in San Francisco, are available for rental for your event. The main gallery can accommodate groups up to 200, and the annex can hold up to 75. Hang Art has been used for birthday parties, weddings, and meetings, but the possibilities for entertaining are endless. Please call the gallery to learn more.

The End to Infinity

We were delighted when we were approached by Infinity Towers to hang art (get it, HANG ART) in the lobby of their buildings. We placed Old Iron by Lea Feinstein in building D and From the Top by Piero Spadaro in building B.
We received a lot of positive response from the residents, but all good [...]

HANG ART artist Anne Stryke is in a two person show this month at Scott McCue Gallery 88. Also in the exhibition is the work of her friend and colleague at the Academy of Art University, Margaret Keelan.
Anne’s work never fails to impress, be sure to check out the show.

Jose Arenas Studio Visit

Before an exhibition we like to pop on over to the artists studio and take a look at what they have cooking. It is a great opportunity to get some insight into their work as well as just catch up.
In January HANG ART will be featuring the artwork of Jose Arenas and Phillip Hua in [...]

DAVe back in the Mission

HANG artist DAVe Warnke got his start running around San Francisco’s Mission district with a pocket full of stickers and a healthy disregard for private property. Several years later DAVe is back in the Mission, this time in more legitimate terms at Farina Focaccia & Cucina Italiana. If you want to see the piece, you [...]

CH+D Hit List

HANG ART artist Phillip Hua has been featured in the November/December edition of California Home and Design. The editors nominated Phillip, and then polled to the Internet to get the peoples choice. Phillip won by popular vote, and as we all know, it is the popular vote that counts.
The article reads…
When San Francisco artist Phillip [...]

The Beginings of Model Behavior

On Sunday, November 15th we had a select group of HANG ART artists over to the gallery for a private figure drawing and painting session. We closed the doors and set the gallery up as a studio, hired two models, and provided snacks and beverages while the artists went to work.
We started off slow with [...]
